Uses of trichloroisocyanuric acid (TCCA)
TCCA has a wide range of uses, covering several household and commercial applications. These include:
TCCA is particularly effective for water treatment. It is widely used as a disinfectant in swimming pools and even for drinking water treatment. This is possible because it is very safe when in contact with the human body and consumed with drinking water. It also helps to remove algae from industrial water supplies and treat industrial or municipal wastewater. Other uses include the disinfection of oil drilling fluids and sewage and the production of seawater tanks.
